Anxiety is your body’s natural response to stress. It’s a feeling of fear or apprehension about what’s to come. The first day of school, going to a job interview, or giving a speech may cause most people to feel fearful and nervous.
In today’s world, we’re all overwhelmed and loaded with stress. Luckily though, taking some time during the day to pause and reflect can do wonders to our overall well-being!
Aromatherapy is a very powerful tool when used correctly – the soothing smells of essential oils can help us calm down, find balance and re-center. Anxiety relief can be experienced by using certain essential oils that have a soothing and calming effect.
How to use essential oils for anxiety:
If you are new to essential oils, it is really important to always make sure to use 100% pure essential oils for inhaling or applying to your skin. The essential oil market is not regulated which can bring the chance of adulterated oils with synthetic ingredients.
Essential oils can be used through inhalation by a variety of methods, here are a few ways:
- Inhale directly from the bottle
- Drops on a cotton ball or tissue
- Essential oil diffuser
- Aromatherapy bath (this one offers both topical and inhalation benefits)
