Lemon is one of the top essential oils for beginners for many reasons. First of all, the scent is one that is familiar and easily recognizable. Second, it has a very uplifting aroma that usually has a positive effect on people. But most importantly, this oil has so many applications and uses! Here are a few hacks we’d like to encourage you to try:

Grease Stains:

Grease stains are no match for lemon and baking soda! Simply sprinkle the stain with baking soda, add 2-3 drops of lemon essential oil, and let sit for one hour. Scrape off the excess baking soda and wash as normal. Bye, bye grease stains!

Garbage Odor:

Add 2 drops of lemon essential oil to a cotton ball, then place the cotton ball at the bottom of your garbage can. Lemon essential oil has antibacterial and deodorizing properties, which will help prevent your garbage can from smelling like… well, garbage!

Make you dishes sparkle:

Add a few drops of lemon essential oil to your dish soap. The lemon oil will help loosen up grease stains and cut through mineral deposits resulting in super sparkly dishes (that also smell amazing!)

Easy air freshener:

One of our favorite DIY’s since it’s so easy to make! Just add some water to a spray bottle along with a few drops of your favorite essential oil! Shake it and spray – you can’t go wrong with lemon essential oil for air freshener!
